Kangaroo Jack

Kangaroo Jack began as a Jerry Bruckheimer film with a kangaroo in it, but—thanks to overwhelmingly positive responses to the character VFX in early screenings—turned into a movie about a kangaroo.

I worked with a fantastic Secret Lab crew on Kangaroo Jack and learned much from the talented group. Lighting Supervisor Brian LaFrance was the first to encourage me to move toward a lead role and helped me better understand the nature of the position.

This was also my introduction to character look development, something I've loved ever since—especially when hair or fur is involved.

Along with creating character and environment lighting, I worked closely with the Look Development team to determine efficient, best-practice approaches for the lighting and look of the kangaroo.
