Forza Motortsport 5 was the graphics showcase title for the Xbox One launch. The Turn 10 team achieved amazing, photoreal visuals and exciting gameplay at a blazing 1080p/60fps benchmark.
Working closely with the Project Art Director, I shaped the look of lighting for all cars, tracks, and ForzaVista. I crafted lighting, color, tonemapping, and post moments to enhance gameplay. The result was a high-quality, consistent lighting aesthetic across the game that maximized the player experience.
Also responsible for departmental budgeting, staffing, and production scheduling, I hired and mentored a team of Lighting Artists.
I co-developed the offline rendering pipeline with our talented Tools team and directed the creation of both offline and runtime lighting tools, focusing on making them artist-friendly in a PBR workflow.
